I know it's been a while and I will try my best to post regularly for the remainder of the year. My favorite time of year is quickly approaching...autumn! Halloween and Thanksgiving are just around the corner and it's time to get crafty!<div><br></div><div>I wanted to quickly share a cute and simple little card I made for the store to send to customers. The paper is by Pink Paislee and it's from their Pen Pals/Switchboard lines. So cute!</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-s1w4UcW4SRc/U-1WmrVByXI/AAAAAAAAD6g/C2ei5lIJibM/s640/blogger-image-1435623679.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-s1w4UcW4SRc/U-1WmrVByXI/AAAAAAAAD6g/C2ei5lIJibM/s640/blogger-image-1435623679.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Thanks for stopping by & stay scrappy!</div><div><br></div><div>-Gina & the Hounds</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05920037804651361666noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1197638457990254195.post-65307015244901890572014-06-19T13:29:00.003-07:002014-06-20T07:30:07.384-07:00Fun with the Silhouette Cameo!Happy Friday! I have finally completed the big project I've been working on for the past 4 months, and just in time too! Yesterday was the Giant's birthday and as a gift, I made him scrapbooks (a two volume set) of his 38 years. It was definitely a labor of love... 240+ pages (front & back). Here are some of my favorite cuts that I created with my Cameo. I am grateful to have had the Cameo for this project! It enabled me to create a truly personalized gift. The custom images below were all in jpg format. For images from the Silhouette Store, I included the image numbers so you can find them if desired.<br>

It's been a while since I last posted but for good reasons. Remember that scrapbooking store I love (www.scrappininthecity.com)? Well, I am working there part-time now and loving it! How could I not when I get to be surrounded by cool product and talented people all day?! I have also been working on a big project for the Giant for his upcoming birthday in June for the last few weeks and can't post the layouts...yet. I did, however, get around to this month's Scrappin' in the City DT challenge-using washi & sequins. I decided to go off the page with these easy to make mason jar lights. No doubt you've seen the hundreds of variations on these easy to make home decor accents on Pinterest.</span></div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-RH6_ThKBNgA/U4fvepjtHfI/AAAAAAAAD0s/kHdeCh9bFQk/s640/blogger-image-960749022.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-RH6_ThKBNgA/U4fvepjtHfI/AAAAAAAAD0s/kHdeCh9bFQk/s640/blogger-image-960749022.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-MIptlGxyLvQ/U4fvcEviI9I/AAAAAAAAD0k/bX1xs9oNzJc/s640/blogger-image--1236673198.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-MIptlGxyLvQ/U4fvcEviI9I/AAAAAAAAD0k/bX1xs9oNzJc/s640/blogger-image--1236673198.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-rWd6ZGlpl8g/U4fvghdfpII/AAAAAAAAD00/iP872nI_zps/s640/blogger-image-1270446151.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-rWd6ZGlpl8g/U4fvghdfpII/AAAAAAAAD00/iP872nI_zps/s640/blogger-image-1270446151.jpg"></a></div><div><br></div>I poured some leftover glitter (a mix of Martha Glow-in-the Dark and tinsel glitter), in the jars and layered Doodlebug sequins on top (they come packaged in adorable test tubes). The washi tape was a combination of Doodlebug and My Mind's Eye and of course you can find mason jars at many retailers. I used a thin wire to wrap around the jar's lip and created a handle. Easy peasy! The twine around the top is leftover Strawberry Stripe and Sea Foam from The Twinery. The tea lights are battery operated.</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks for stopping by and stay scrappy!</div><div><br></div><div>-Gina & the Hounds<br><div><br></div><div><br></div></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05920037804651361666noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1197638457990254195.post-51350615338985231642014-05-06T19:10:00.001-07:002014-08-14T18:32:12.414-07:00Mischievous Girl & Goodbye Hair!<div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Happy Saturday! It was a very scary Monday night/Tuesday morning for us as I'm sure it was for many Knoxvillians. I lived in earthquake country all my life but this recent storm that just passed through really had my nerves rattled. I received a tornado warning on my cell phone accompanied by a shrill alarm with the words "take shelter now." I received this alert twice. The Giant was in Atlanta on the 6th floor of a hotel (that must have been scary since they were getting hammered as well) so it was only the hounds and I that quickly ran to our safe spot...the closet underneath the stairs.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-u2lOaqCKiho/U2CIBhpmbuI/AAAAAAAADiM/kGXAnGT8Rag/s640/blogger-image-524567190.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-u2lOaqCKiho/U2CIBhpmbuI/AAAAAAAADiM/kGXAnGT8Rag/s640/blogger-image-524567190.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">During the first alarm, the hounds were put in their carriers which they DID NOT like. Bailey worked herself up into a frenzy, yipping and panting. After it was safe to come out, I decided to leave their harnesses on, just in case. I'm so glad I did because less than 30 min. later, the 2nd alarm sounded. We<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> finally passed out around just after 2am, with the cell phone right next to my pillow. It </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">was scary for sure but thankfully, we escaped damage and no one was hurt. Southern TN was not so lucky nor the three states beneath us. My heart goes out to all who were injured or lost loved ones during these violent storms.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">During this past week, I've<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> been experimenting with my Silhouette machine and I am happy to report that I love it! I created this for Scrappin' in the City's April DT challenge which was to make something using vinyl. 2 paintbrushes-one for painting and one for decoupaging</div>
<div>
Hot glue gun</div>
<div>
Hot glue gun "finger" or Mod Podge finger (to protect from burns)</div>
<div>
Jewelry wire</div>
<div>
Washi tape</div>
<div>
Kraft paper cardstock </div>
<div>
Heidi Swapp Color Mist (I used Blush)</div>
<div>

Step 1: Cut tissue paper in four 1.5" strips and cut 1.5" squares from each strip. Apply Mod Podge to back of tissue paper squares and to the area of the bust you'll be working on. Step 4: Mix about 4 large palatte knife-fuls of modeling paste with 10 pumps of Color Mist for each wing. Mix well until you achieve desired color. Apply tinted paste to one side of each wing (make sure you have wings oriented in the correct direction for each side of the bust). The more lines you create, the more texture. Continue until you have reached desired coverage (covering all kraft paper, wire, and washi) and texture. You can speed up the drying some with a heat gun. Allow to harden. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
(Note: I originally applied the paste after I had feathered. I recommend applying the paste before feathering so you don't get paste on the feathers!)</div>
</div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Step 5: Time to sand the candle pillar. (Make sure to move wings and bust out of the way before starting this step so you don't get wood dust stuck to your drying pieces.) If you have a Dremmel, you can do this step fairly quickly. If not, just grab a piece of 150-grit sandpaper and begin sanding. This is so the paint will stick better and will keep you from having to add a second coat.</div>
<div>

</div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Step 6: Wipe off pillar with a baby wipe to remove dust and clean up work space. Apply paint to pillar, focusing on any nooks and crannies it may have. I used one coat of Behr's Ultra in Petal Bloom which gave it a chalky texture. You can use acrylic paint as well which will give you a different finish.</div>

<br></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Step 7: While candle pillar is drying, begin work on the other side of the wings, making sure the modeling paste has set if you opted to use it. Begin hot gluing feathers to each wing. Select feathers with a natural bend to go around the edge of the wing first then work toward the middle. Apply hot glue to the "stems" so as not to have yellow, gluey spots in the middle of your feathers. Continue until you have desired coverage. Trim around the edges if needed to "shape" your wings.</span></div>

Step 8: Making sure bust is dry, cut two small slits in the back with an X-Acto knife where end pieces of your wings will be inserted. Insert wings and secure with hot glue, smoothing out the glue do it doesn't leave big visible globs. Use dots of hot glue to secure wings to back of the bust. Apply a small strip of tissue to cover the area where the wings are inserted to give a smoother finish.</div>

I can finally say that I am the proud owner of the Silhouette Cameo. It has been over 3 months that I have been without an electronic die-cutting machine and I sure missed it. If you recall from a previous post<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">(http://scrappinwithhounds.blogspot.com/2014/03/happy-birthday-bax.html?m=1), I left Team Cricut and am now a member of the Cameo community. I know there are still many out there who are die-hard Cricut customers and I hope the Explore gives you what you are looking for and makes up for the past poor customer service, Imagine, and all the other products Provo Craft has discontinued and no longer supports. I have just started playing with the Cameo but leading up to its arrival, I have been watching YouTube videos and reading message boards, trying to absorb all of the awesome things this machine can do. My very first cut was of this bone, (of course),</span></div>

<b>Print & cut chicks from the Silhouette store</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
An awesome YouTube channel I found for Cameo tutorials is Sarah's World 4 U. Silhouette America has its own channel as well and is extremely helpful, especially with the more advanced features of the machine.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">My only complaint with the Cameo is that I can't make it cut from my iPad. There is an app called Splashtop that enables you to use the Design Studio (it allows you to connect to your laptop remotely) but because there is no way to plug a USB cable into an iPad, it doesn't solve my "I don't want to schlep my laptop along with all of my other bags of crap to a crop" dilemma. For those of you fortunate enough to have a Surface Pro 2, you can do what I wish I could do with my iPad and travel light (it has a USB port).</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I plan to upgrade to the designer software soon and my very first task will be to scan a stamped CTMH image and cut it out! If you have any favorite Cameo blogs, channels, tips or tricks, I'd love to hear about them!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

Thanks for stopping by and as always, stay scrappy!</div>

I hope you all get refunds! I realized this weekend that I never wrote a review of Day 2 of Croptopia. I guess that's because there wasn't much to say other than I got a few more pages done, one of them being this layout for the Giant's scrapbook project.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Basket I donated to crop. Theme: A Whole Lotta Holtz. It contained paper, ink, and a lot of doodads.</div>
<br />
I did not win a single prize...not shocking I can assure you. But overall, I had a good time. I wasn't as productive as I have been at other crops but at least I got a big project started (see Giant scrapbook project above). I hope to have it done in time for my husband's birthday in June. I do have one negative thing to report. I had a CTMH paper pack, "Balloon Ride," and my new Glue Dots dispenser stolen from me. Who steals at a crop? I have never had this happen to me before. The organizer let us know at the beginning of the weekend that she had 3 Cricut cartridges stolen from the technology table at the last event she hosted. These particular cartridges sell for hundreds of dollars on eBay.<br />
<br />
Do I need to worry about my stuff now at weekend crops? Have you ever been stolen from?<br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by and stay scrappy!<br />

I've shared a few things about myself on this blog over the last couple of months.<br>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
1. I like scrapbooking.</div>
<div>
2. I love hounds.</div>
<div>
3. I hate exercise but can tolerate Zumba.</div>
<div>
4. I love chocolate.</div>
<div>
5. I have a husband whom I refer to as "the Giant."</div>
<div>
6. I have a 3-legged cat named Booker T.<br>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Here is number 7: I am a <i>huge</i> Hall & Oates fan. Last night was a special night for me and thousands of other fans. Daryl & John were finally inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. They were/are my idols. It got me very nostalgic.</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I have been a fan since they looked like this:</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"></span><br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-qlWPDafCdqc/U0d51RrbslI/AAAAAAAADA8/FJyEu1mIv0Y/s640/blogger-image--1232348617.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-qlWPDafCdqc/U0d51RrbslI/AAAAAAAADA8/FJyEu1mIv0Y/s640/blogger-image--1232348617.jpg"></a></span></div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">And I looked like this:</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"></span><br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-y604ypUZj-4/U0ggrWqONCI/AAAAAAAADBM/QYwdSpbuIsQ/s640/blogger-image-281167392.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-y604ypUZj-4/U0ggrWqONCI/AAAAAAAADBM/QYwdSpbuIsQ/s640/blogger-image-281167392.jpg"></a></span></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Apologies for the blurry photo but you get the idea. Circa 1988. Check out the giant Pink Panther glasses...among other things.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">This is me at age 11, chubby, nerdy, and a fashion disaster. These middle-aged men were my first crushes. I don't know what that says about me but it's true. My eyes were glued to MTV, watching their video "Everything Your Heart Desires" wondering if they would think I was pretty.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Even before I really knew who they were </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I wanted to hear "Kiss On My List" over and over again from my mom's four-record collection of #1 hits. I tried to place the needle on the song myself and scratched it up. I was four. </span><br>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I asked to lip-sync Daryl's part in "We Are the World" at a third grade assembly. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I gasped when I heard Daryl say "bitch" on the song Rich Girl for the first time. It was the first naughty word I ever said out loud...</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">In 6th grade (age 12), I won a school-wide book writing contest. I wrote a book titled "Sara Smile" after their 1975 hit. I was too shy to read it aloud to the whole school so my teacher, Mr. Johnson, did.</span><br>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BPtNwwBRBe0/U0gmcGEPjqI/AAAAAAAADB4/r7DbbwC9Z-g/s1600/IMG_0013.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BPtNwwBRBe0/U0gmcGEPjqI/AAAAAAAADB4/r7DbbwC9Z-g/s1600/IMG_0013.jpg" height="320" width="216"></a></div>
<br>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> I will entertain you with the highlights. </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">The introduction reads:</span></div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It gets worse.</div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I think back on my 13 year-old self, during the height of my fanaticism, stealing $15 from my brother's change jar so I could buy the red 45 vinyl of "Jingle Bell Rock." In the 8th grade, I had a crush on a boy named Darryl who looked like a teenage version of Daryl Hall. At Age 18, I spent a year at Temple University in Philadelphia (because that's where they went-this is the first time I've actually admitted this out loud), swearing I would someday work in the music business and work for Daryl & John, and if they ever made it into the Hall of Fame, I would be there in person to cheer them on. Instead, things played out this way: </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">At 18 I was hit on by their former manager and asked if I wanted to go for a midnight boat ride after a concert in San Diego (I used to be the youngest fan in the room-I said no thanks). I was asked to work for the now defunct Push Records (their former label) by a drunk executive whom when I called back the following Monday morning, didn't know who the hell I was. I worked as a sales rep for a crappy independent music distributor (you know those "Tribute to (fill in with the name of any actual famous artist or band) CD's? Yeah, I sold those). The company started selling Daryl's solo album "Soul Alone" a year after I had quit. Sprinkle in a few more disappointing, lackluster events...then there was last night. </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> I was reduced to listening to a barely audible UStream video of the induction ceremony, trying to glean some sense of what was being said, struggling to hear the opening notes of "She's Gone" while some drunk a-hole with an obnoxious Jersey accent called them "a waste." (He was a Bruce fan). </span><br>

I tried wearing poet's shirts (the blouses with all of the ruffles...looks Shakespearean), Texas slide ties, and vests like Daryl & John (their 90's look). It didn't matter to me that I am the opposite sex. They were the coolest people I knew and I wanted to be like them even though I was the only one of my age group & in my circles that thought this. I was made fun of...a lot. Once, in 5th grade, a girl came up to me and told me that she heard on the news that Daryl was dead. He had died apparently of old age. </div>
</div>
</div>
<div>
<br>
The confessions continue:<br>
<br>
I had a pet mouse named Oates and a parakeet named Daryl.<br>
<br>
I<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> had over 20 pen pals (all fellow fans) at one time, all listed on the back pages of RSI (the Rock 'n Soul International fan club-the official Daryl Hall & John Oates fan club.</span><br>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">My dad once drove me to a concert in L.A. in which we had different seats (I was up front and he was further back) and I managed to get backstage passes with a friend after the show. I sent dad home. He stopped at a Denny's on the way back to get some dinner and got food poisoning.</span></div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
I<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">once made my parents drive me to Pottstown in PA, (while they were dropping me off at college) and knocked on Daryl's parents front door to ask if it was okay to take a picture of their house for my scrapbook. Daryl's dad was washing dishes. He told me he thought that would be okay.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I have a piece of tile from the luncheonette pictured on this 1973 album cover (it is one of my most prized possessions).</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif; text-align: left;"> I did this as part of the "Flat Daryl & John" slideshow shown at the convention (a play on the children's character Flat Stanley). <span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div>

<div>
I watch every episode of Live from Daryl's House on Palladia, will watch Daryl's new DIY Network show "Restoration Over-Hall", and am busy memorizing every song on John Oates solo album "Good Road to Follow." I signed the petition Rachel Ray started as well as petitions created before then to get them into the Hall of Fame.</div>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
So you see, a lot of memories (some cringe-worthy) revolve around these guys. Although I don't know them personally, they feel like family. They've always been there. I've never been embarrassed to be a fan, but I've done some supremely dorky things in efforts to express my gratitude for their music. <span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">There are others who are just like me (no really, there are) who were at the induction ceremony last night. As much as I wish I could have been there, I feel proud. Congrats to "my boys" for finally being recognized as the true musicians, songwriters, and performers you are. </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"></span><br>

With all of the cute designs out on the market today, it's been challenging to look back on scrapbooks I have done and not feel the urge to do them over. Case in point-my wedding scrapbook. I scrapped my wedding album 9 years ago when I didn't have as much stuff as I do today. I also didn't know as many techniques as I do now. There is so much more variety today and just plain cool stuff that didn't exist even 5 years ago.<br>

<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Today I'd like to show you a 12 x 12 layout I made for Scrappin' in the City (www.scrappininthecity.com) using Bella Blvd.'s new Love & Marriage line. It's a very cute line with bright colors and lovely patterns. The stylish bride and groom in the photos are my sis & brother in-laws from their San Diego wedding in May of 2012. </span><br>

So as my previous post stated, I am at Croptopia Weekend Getaways' Tennessee Spring Fling weekend.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-93V8zy8S_Es/Uz-Wcrfbm6I/AAAAAAAAC9M/NBkI5s7vQKg/s640/blogger-image--1504641783.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-93V8zy8S_Es/Uz-Wcrfbm6I/AAAAAAAAC9M/NBkI5s7vQKg/s640/blogger-image--1504641783.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div></span></div><div>The first person I met was a Close to my Heart rock star consultant, Tonya Sheridan, whom I think may be the nicest, generous person I've ever met (you will see why). She is working the crop all weekend and has an impressive set-up. She is teaching a make and take today with a product called Flip Flaps that I am very much looking forward to. She took time out of her busy schedule to give me invaluable business advice. <div><br></div><div>Friday was an eventful day...not because of the photo scavenger hunt or dancing around the room every time the song "Happy" is played, or even cropping, (which I did little of). </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-1wkY0WmrWXI/Uz-WeNoi4jI/AAAAAAAAC9U/UY7hbFYuzw4/s640/blogger-image-870948836.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-1wkY0WmrWXI/Uz-WeNoi4jI/AAAAAAAAC9U/UY7hbFYuzw4/s640/blogger-image-870948836.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><i>Dancing for tickets @ Tenessee Croptopia-Day 1.</i></div><div><br></div>It's because my payment for the one night stay package wasn't communicated correctly to Susan Shallo, (the organizer of the event) and the Holiday Inn was oversold by 3 guests. As my mother would say, "this could only happen to me." Susan took care of it, however, and promptly refunded that portion of the package in addition to asking Tonya (CTMH rock star) who had a double room, if I could room with her. Being the generous, kind soul Tonya is, she agreed. I ran out and got her a Starbucks sipper cup and gift card to show my appreciation. I love meeting awesome people! I will report on the upcoming gift basket auction, layout contest, and Flip Flap make & take later today.</div><div><br></div><div>Stay scrappy!</div><div><br></div><div>-Gina & the Hounds</div><div><br></div><div><br></div></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05920037804651361666noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1197638457990254195.post-64282696461776410952014-04-02T16:42:00.000-07:002014-04-04T07:44:39.373-07:00Croptopia Tennesee Spring Fling/Birthday Girl with Bella Blvd.Happy Friday! I am blogging "live" from the Croptopia Getaways (www.croptopiagetaways.com) Tennessee Spring Fling weekend! The event runs Friday-Sunday at the Holiday Inn next to World's Fair Park in beautiful downtown Knoxville. There aren't many scrappers in the ballroom yet (it's 10:00 a.m. on the first day of the event). The ladies who are here are <i>hardcore</i>. I've never seen so many rolling carts and bags. We're talking eight huge bags and four giant rolling carts...for two people! Someone I know from a previous retreat even brought a Keurig...genius! I feel humbled with my meager set-up. And I'm here alone which I've done before but I am hopeful that I will meet people to go on future crops with. It's always more fun to scrap with people you know. There appears to be several ladies in my age group here. (There was a 2 Peas post a few days ago about scrapbooking being thought of as a granny hobby. While there are grannies here (I view them as silver-haired scrappin' gurus) there are also plenty of women here in their 30's and 40's.)<div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Fr1PFrOD9z8/Uz7EC4FAGDI/AAAAAAAAC84/9She2hiTX0Q/s640/blogger-image--1202894907.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Fr1PFrOD9z8/Uz7EC4FAGDI/AAAAAAAAC84/9She2hiTX0Q/s640/blogger-image--1202894907.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">My set-up looks even more pathetic in photographic form! Congrats on surviving another week! Apologies for the infrequent posts lately. I decided to take some to create rather than worry about what on earth I was going to blog about. <div><br></div><div>Zumba update: It still hurts. I'm 7 lbs. down though, due in large part to Weight Watchers. 60 min. of Zumba adds 6 WW points which is just enough for some chocolate. So basically I'm working out for chocolate.<br><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Today's featured layout is inspired by My Mind's Eye Snapshot line. I created this layout as part of the DT for Scrappin' in the City (www.scrappininthecity.com). The phone images reminded me of a fond childhood activity-listening to my mom & dad's vinyl records. I was around 5 or 6 years old then. One of the LP's I listened to frequently was Lily Tomlin's "This Is A Recording" which featured one of her most beloved characters, Ernestine, the switchboard operator. I laughed every time Ernestine uttered the words, "One ringy dingy, 2 ringy dingy..."</span></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-aF38np5uPIc/UzN-bfmfGtI/AAAAAAAACrk/F_FaXpVVGlg/s640/blogger-image--579800486.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-aF38np5uPIc/UzN-bfmfGtI/AAAAAAAACrk/F_FaXpVVGlg/s640/blogger-image--579800486.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-FLtA0LbTLu8/UzN-djkHMFI/AAAAAAAACr0/ENeFl6MQJp0/s640/blogger-image-1257234637.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-FLtA0LbTLu8/UzN-djkHMFI/AAAAAAAACr0/ENeFl6MQJp0/s640/blogger-image-1257234637.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-R8QVB9PetyY/UzN-cuwJXpI/AAAAAAAACrs/zGipIVZx3xo/s640/blogger-image-262858306.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-R8QVB9PetyY/UzN-cuwJXpI/AAAAAAAACrs/zGipIVZx3xo/s640/blogger-image-262858306.jpg"></a></div></div></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Materials Used:</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-rDv_o8zUAtc/UzT0VH0ZKmI/AAAAAAAACss/ITzA0SqWYYw/s640/blogger-image--1762349268.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-rDv_o8zUAtc/UzT0VH0ZKmI/AAAAAAAACss/ITzA0SqWYYw/s640/blogger-image--1762349268.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">(The TC journaling card is from the Snapshots line.)</div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Have you scrapped a fond childhood memory recently? Last night, I participated in my first card swap, something I have wanted to do for a long time. This year is definitely the year for trying new things and doing what I love! This month's theme was sympathy. I found it to be quite challenging, especially when I was looking through my paper stash and realized that a lot of what I have is bright and cheery. I managed to pull something together but made the rookie mistake of forgetting the envelopes. (Cue horn {waah waah}). The group I was with joked that I wasn't allowed at the next swap. Doh!</span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I felt that the card needed to be subdued with few embellishments (Stickles just didn't feel right on a card of this sentiment). </span></div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-DjOSYqgtySA/Uy0XcPcVqwI/AAAAAAAACo4/lYWObgFXt9w/s640/blogger-image--1911879781.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-DjOSYqgtySA/Uy0XcPcVqwI/AAAAAAAACo4/lYWObgFXt9w/s640/blogger-image--1911879781.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-QpytFc_vuXo/Uy0Xc00YSKI/AAAAAAAACpA/cXNUWfDNh0M/s640/blogger-image--1780871932.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-QpytFc_vuXo/Uy0Xc00YSKI/AAAAAAAACpA/cXNUWfDNh0M/s640/blogger-image--1780871932.jpg"></a></div><br></div>I was so tempted to do a sympathy card for a pet but thought that most people would find a people card more useful. So I'm sure I don't have to tell you how fun it is to shop for scrapbooking accessories. In fact, sometimes I think it's the only reason I scrapbook. At Scrappin' in the City's mountain retreat at the beginning of the month, I met a cropper who is an independent consultant for Thirty-One bags. If you haven't yet discovered the beauty and utility of Thirty-One, I highly recommend them for your scrapbooking needs. They come in all sizes and are incredibly durable. I first discovered Thirty-One at Scrapbook Expo in Ontario, CA two years ago. I ended up buying a small bag to hold hound-related accessories and I decorated it with stencils and glitter.<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UI8OeXNT3Os/Uyj8nbRqcxI/AAAAAAAACoU/JtdQTUU9m64/s1600/31dogbag.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-UI8OeXNT3Os/Uyj8nbRqcxI/AAAAAAAACoU/JtdQTUU9m64/s1600/31dogbag.jpg" height="256" width="320"></a></div>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
This time, I ordered a large tote to hold all of my stuff or "scrap" that I can use to transport supplies to crops and retreats. I also had it personalized along with a small bag that I can use for accessories or a portable trash bin. <br>
<br>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fSx9NiZi45s/Uyj8zibfyQI/AAAAAAAACoo/ssGIo0eYYHA/s1600/small31.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fSx9NiZi45s/Uyj8zibfyQI/AAAAAAAACoo/ssGIo0eYYHA/s1600/small31.jpg" height="320" width="319"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
Besides being <i>adorable</i>, the embroidered chick has some significance. Back in February, I submitted some layouts and an altered project for consideration to be a member of the Scrappin' in the City design team. I am excited to announce that I was chosen along with 5 others. This is my very first design team experience and I'm super excited! The official SITC logo is the chick and the girls who work there are called city chicks. I get to be an honorary chick for the next 6 months! I will post SITC projects as I complete them and link up to the store's site and any posts I write for their blog in the near future.<br>
<br>
Have you discovered Thirty-One bags and what do you use them for? Have you ever been on a design team and if so, who was it for? Who was your first?<br>
<br>
Thanks for stopping by and stay scrappy!<br>

Yesterday was a very special day. It was Baxter Bear's birthday. My Gremlin monkey boy is 6 years old (or so we think--he was an adoption like the others). The Giant is out of town so we will be celebrating with a special walk (just Bax and us) and a trip to River Dog Bakery (http://www.riverdogbakery.com) on Saturday. Happy birthday Bax!</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-QE7MwO6LSZI/UyC2qYQ2YbI/AAAAAAAAClg/XrD4U7GL7ls/s640/blogger-image-206000464.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-QE7MwO6LSZI/UyC2qYQ2YbI/AAAAAAAAClg/XrD4U7GL7ls/s640/blogger-image-206000464.jpg"></a></div><br></div></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Over the past weekend, I was busy finishing the final purges of my scraproom for Scrappin' in the City's (my fave local scrapbooking store) yard sale. It felt so good to remove items that have been taking up space that I never got around to using. The pre-sale is tonight and the sale runs from Fri.-Sat. I am really hoping my stuff sells so I can put the proceeds towards a Silhouette Cameo.</span></div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-q3quYCt-szU/UyC0_elzxlI/AAAAAAAAClM/OFAFFGCynXs/s640/blogger-image--1852050267.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-q3quYCt-szU/UyC0_elzxlI/AAAAAAAAClM/OFAFFGCynXs/s640/blogger-image--1852050267.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Photo: Silhouette America shop </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">(http://www.silhouetteamerica.com/shop)</div></div><div><br></div><div>I was a Cricut gal before but I recently sold my Expression and all of my cartridges/accessories on EBay. After seeing what the Cameo can do, it is safe to say that I am a convert! The cuts that this machine can make are incredible! One of the girls at "The City" (the local scrapbooking store) is working on a custom job for a customer who has traveled the world. She is making title pages that show the shape each country the client has visited. The Cameo is having no problems cutting out the shapes of countries that have the most of intricate cuts (think of the Phillipines). I was so impressed!</div><div><br></div><div>Are you a Cricut follower or a Cameo fan? I'm back! Please bear with me as I continue to experiment with the blog. I am still trying to recover from a weeklong stint of Piloxing, Zumba, & Yoga workouts, the first in a few years. I know arthritis is contributing to the extra long recovery time but I also know that exercise helps with flexibility immensely. It seems like a catch-22. I better learn to embrace discomfort and pain soon! </div><div><br></div><div>In hound-related news, I am happy to report that Handsome's staples were removed yesterday and everything has healed up nicely. Here's hoping he doesn't accidentally roll over on his brother again. </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Dk6Kj5fxQKU/Ux6fLIzF_hI/AAAAAAAACZ0/7yIhTl6_2gE/s640/blogger-image-573104412.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Dk6Kj5fxQKU/Ux6fLIzF_hI/AAAAAAAACZ0/7yIhTl6_2gE/s640/blogger-image-573104412.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Today, I am sharing with you my top 5 most favorite paper lines so far this year. My fingers are one of the few body parts that don't hurt from this week of getting back to exercise which is good because I can still blog. I wanted to share with you some finds from Michaels. All of their baskets and some of their decor is on sale for 40-50% off, including scrapbooking storage. Instead of going the plastic storage solution route, I looked to baskets and using decor items in different ways to add to my scrapbook room, which is still a work in progress.</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-t0LcvM-Eoys/UxlbHU6ExBI/AAAAAAAACXo/ov9kwKC9Z7k/s640/blogger-image--2017799282.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-t0LcvM-Eoys/UxlbHU6ExBI/AAAAAAAACXo/ov9kwKC9Z7k/s640/blogger-image--2017799282.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I was so happy to find this minty basket today at 50% off! My scrap room is mint and pink and it holds my 12 x 12 paper perfectly. If you recall, I originally had all of my paper in a plastic storage cube. This fabric lined basket is so much nicer on the paper and I am absolutely obsessed with the mint right now.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-ELH-rYJIGXQ/UxlbICdeGUI/AAAAAAAACXw/rKpAqyVuCLo/s640/blogger-image-1034072155.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-ELH-rYJIGXQ/UxlbICdeGUI/AAAAAAAACXw/rKpAqyVuCLo/s640/blogger-image-1034072155.jpg"></a></div><br></div>The next item I procured was this utensil basket at 40% off. It makes a great place to store color mists and the like. It's divided into three sections in the back which are just big enough for my spray adhesive.</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-nmQgRDXAPII/UxlbC8829bI/AAAAAAAACXA/C2gHrEdKC08/s640/blogger-image--524819880.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-nmQgRDXAPII/UxlbC8829bI/AAAAAAAACXA/C2gHrEdKC08/s640/blogger-image--524819880.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Next up is this caddy to hold my glue gun, glue sticks, and colored pencils, also 40% off.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-OIP1WAdAsn8/UxlbEurP8SI/AAAAAAAACXQ/JmwpwQccaYM/s640/blogger-image--1135209031.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-OIP1WAdAsn8/UxlbEurP8SI/AAAAAAAACXQ/JmwpwQccaYM/s640/blogger-image--1135209031.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I found this small basket for 50% off and it works great for all of my Thickers.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-CwgpN4PfrsA/UxlbDhCfH4I/AAAAAAAACXI/uPFRc5X08xY/s640/blogger-image--88232387.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-CwgpN4PfrsA/UxlbDhCfH4I/AAAAAAAACXI/uPFRc5X08xY/s640/blogger-image--88232387.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Lastly, is this small bird cage I found in the $2.00-$3.00 section. I thought is was cute and it does a nice job of holding my cupcake liners. By the way, have you ever crafted with cupcake liners? You can make pretty flowers, banners, and fringe trim with them...note to self...future blog post.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-2k8sYhZttE8/UxlbGYHCvuI/AAAAAAAACXg/cg7J3JErbnw/s640/blogger-image--1408915700.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-2k8sYhZttE8/UxlbGYHCvuI/AAAAAAAACXg/cg7J3JErbnw/s640/blogger-image--1408915700.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-me2gAPACIhQ/UxlbFd0AbGI/AAAAAAAACXY/bcERhKDL9R4/s640/blogger-image--973097270.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-me2gAPACIhQ/UxlbFd0AbGI/AAAAAAAACXY/bcERhKDL9R4/s640/blogger-image--973097270.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Well, that's it for this week's thrifty finds. By the way, Michaels also has 40% off Heidi Swapp right now. My store looked picked through already. :( Good luck!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Thanks for stopping by and stay scrappy!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">-Gina & the Hounds</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05920037804651361666noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1197638457990254195.post-60471730532172230542014-03-05T16:24:00.001-08:002014-03-05T18:23:36.914-08:00Hump Day with the Hounds-Butts & Bailey<div>Happy Hump Day!</div><div><br></div><div>A couple of days ago, I posted the second worst photo of me that exists. A picture of me on the edge of a sofa so that it spread out what didn't need spreading out, wearing a giant, unstructured t-shirt. It's all good though because it gave me the extra bit of motivation I needed to get back to working out after a year + long arthritis flare-up and the depression that came with it. I fumbled through Piloxing yesterday, winced through yoga today, and plan to trip through Zumba tomorrow. </div><div><br></div><div>During yoga this morning, I was in the unfortunate position of being in front of a guy who had to suffer through most of his session with my butt in the air. To make matters worse, I was in my old/holey, sweat pants, stretched out sports bra, and wearing granny panties. I made the mistake of glancing to my right where there was a mirror while in triangle pose. It wasn't pretty. It looked as if my giant, raspberry colored head was about to pop off of my neck. No need to go into what the rest of my body looked like but let's just say I don't envy the poor soul behind me. Afterwards, I jetted over to Target to pick up the following: Jockey "shorts" to be used as underwear, yoga pants, molded sports bra w/ adjustable shoulder straps, fitted tank with built in shelf support, and a loose fitting cotton tee. It still ain't pretty but I believe that the bits and pieces are all covered, with added secondary protection. I am trying to remember that the worst part is always the beginning of an exercise program as my tender knees, shoulders, and hip joints will tell you. It ain't going to be like it was in my 20's and early 30's when I could exercise everyday without arthritis pain, constant soreness and lose weight without trying too hard. I do feel like I'm in recovery mode now: exercise, yoga, scrapbook, repeat. </div><div><br></div><div>Speaking of scrapbooking and butts in the air, today is Hump Day with the Hounds so today's layout features Bailey aka Doxie Gurl in her tutu. Enjoy.</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1P80BqiYpw8/Uxfb7JQLD_I/AAAAAAAACV8/dC9kQh13_LM/s640/blogger-image-1978103342.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-1P80BqiYpw8/Uxfb7JQLD_I/AAAAAAAACV8/dC9kQh13_LM/s640/blogger-image-1978103342.jpg"></a></div><br></div></div></div></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-JG2v8KSMzhI/UxfC1dpHLyI/AAAAAAAACU4/kXB4rQwnDRM/s640/blogger-image-1237545677.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-JG2v8KSMzhI/UxfC1dpHLyI/AAAAAAAACU4/kXB4rQwnDRM/s640/blogger-image-1237545677.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-nqSOO6PQmBw/UxfC3c4hI3I/AAAAAAAACVI/GQEUQkedAmI/s640/blogger-image--1943026331.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-nqSOO6PQmBw/UxfC3c4hI3I/AAAAAAAACVI/GQEUQkedAmI/s640/blogger-image--1943026331.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">The following supplies were used in the creation of this masterpiece ;) :</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Paper</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">MME Wild Asparagus-lt. pink/brown stripe</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">MME Lost & Found-Market Street "Lovely" French stripe</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">DCWV-Glitter Pack (no info available)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">AC Neopolitan (pink translucent polka dots)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Pearlized pink 12 x 12 sheet that I cut an inch off each side (from a kit long ago)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><b>Embellishments</b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Prima Flowers Lifetime Collection</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Pink & white twine</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">AC Thickers-Doll glitter letter stickers</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">AC ribbon</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Bo Bunny pink ruffle wrap</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Viva Pearl Pen in cream</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">MME Chalk Studio Gemstones & Pearls</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Pink pearl top stick pins</div></div></div><div><br></div><div>Thanks for stopping by and as always, stay scrappy!</div><div><br></div><div>-Gina & the Hounds</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05920037804651361666noreply@blogger.com0
